CXXNET is a web development and hosting provider that specialises in high performance/high efficiency C++ web applications. We plan to go live with our first server in January/February 2010.

CXXNET will use Nginx web servers in conjunction with FastCGI on industry-standard 64 bit CentOS operating systems. Our servers will be located in one of Australia's best data centres, Global Switch in Sydney.

C++ web applications run very fast and have a very small memory footprint. For smaller websites we are experimenting with Sqlite (an SQL database also with a very small memory footprint) as a means of further reducing website resource usage. We believe that highly efficient web applications can help address the growing resource usage of the internet by reducing the amount of hardware and electricity required to host a given number of websites.

CXXNET is at this stage aimed at developers who require a staging platform for testing and showcasing C++ web technologies, and at organisations seriously committed to reducing their carbon footprint.
